実は、ただいまブログ記事を3本溜めているのにまた新たな記事である。(東大卒アイドルの件はもう旬を過ぎたのでお蔵入り？)→ゆたぼんの記事が出たので２本になりました。
今回、東京大学のプログラムでアデレード大学のウィンタープログラムに参加することにした。格好のブログネタだと思ったので、書き進めていきたい。どうせなら、ホストファミリーの方にも、趣味は日記を書くこと、とか言いたいし。
まあ長文は日本語でいいと思うが、少しは英語で発信してみたいですね。流石に毎日更新できるとは思わないが、週末には色々更新したいですね。→ちょっとずつ更新していきます、多分。さて、連載の第0回は、現地に着くまでの手続き&行きの行程についてどのようなものがあったか書いていきます。
現在この記事を書いているのがまさに飛行機の中なので、現在の時点まで追いつくことが目標である。あと後年読まれる方のために一応補足しておきますが、僕が参加しているのは2024年のプログラムです。
⓪概要
アデレード大学が日本の学生向けに行っている英語学習プログラムということで、他にもいくつかの大学が参加しています。また、現地ではホームステイを行います。プログラムは2/19-3/8で、日本を17日に出国し、10日に帰国します。
Abstruct
This is an English learning program The University of Adelaide offers to student in university, and The University of Tokyo and some of other universities percipates the program. Moreover, we homestay there. The class starts at 19th Febraly and ends at 8th March.
①参加理由
ここでカミングアウトすると、現在長期留学を計画中で、その前に1度どこかへ行っておこうと思ったからです。
大学院入学までは、その後の進路などについて全くイメージができなかったのですが、色々見えてきてようやく将来のことについて考え始めました。
今後のことは別にしても、コロナ禍が一応収束し、特に自粛期間中に大学の活動から離れていたことから、一度くらいはこういう機会を活用してみたいという気持ちはありました。とはいえ、親があまりにも楽しみにしている感じはします。
The reason
Actually, I am planning to study abroad for long and wanted to experience of studying abroad before then.
I only started to think of my future after entering post-graduate school because I could not have clear image about my job.
Besides my plan, I did't percitipate to programs the university offer to us because of COVID 19, I wanted to join to these program at once.

②申込手続き
プログラムによっては語学レベルの目安があるものもありますが、今回はないので、選考に通れば参加できます。
10月下旬からUTASで申込が始まり、11/15が締切でした。この段階はそこまで面倒ではないのですが、所属している学部・研究科の了承を得る必要があります。志望動機以外は埋めるのに苦労するものもそれほどはないかなと思います。
今回、合格通知は11/28に来ました。前期教養:後期:大学院の比率は6:2:2といったところでしょうか。
Application
Some program requires skill of language, but the program I joined do not, so only passing the selection is needed.
The application started late in October on UTAS and the deadline was 15th October. This step is not a difficult one, but we need to get approval from their own faculty. It seems to be not difficult to fill in blank except reasons for application.
③参加手続き
3-1 年内の手続き
その後すぐにやらなくてはいけない手続きは、
・ホームステイ先を決めるためのメッセージ、写真の送付
・保険加入
この2つは締切が1週間ほどなので、すぐに取り掛かる必要があります。写真は証明写真ではなくカジュアルなものが良いらしく、僕は研究室同期にクリスマスライトアップに連れて行ってもらいました。
Participation procedure
3-1 in the year
What we have to do soon after that is two things.
・Sending a message and a photograph to decide which family we stay with.
・joining an insurance
We have to deal with these because their deadline is one week after announcement. ID photo is not welcomed, so casual one is needed. I asked my classmate to bring me to Christmas light up.
3-2 1月
1月上旬には学部・研究科に渡航届を提出する必要があります。また、航空券も1月15日ごろまでには購入ですが、早めに購入することもできます。
東大が主催する事前のオリエンテーションが1月12日にありました。ここでは参加者が初めて顔を合わせる機会でした。(※連絡先リストは事前に共有されたので、個々で連絡を取ることは可能)自己紹介、今後の手続きなどがテーマでした。
航空機については、ここで連絡をとって一緒に行くこともできます。僕の場合は12日の後に購入しましたが、特に誰かに合わせた訳ではなかったので、もっと早くてもよかったですね。
ところで、ここで1つ失態。航空券を購入しようと思ったら、クレジットカードの上限額に引っかかりました。審査も落ちたので、親に借りることで事なきを得たのですが。
これにより、1度予約したものが決済されず、ちょっと遅れてしまいました。最初の予定だと最終日にブリスベンでトランジットの宿泊をする必要があったので、ホテル予約の必要がなくなったのはラッキーでしたが。
さて、これとほぼ時を同じくして、10日には新たな提出物登録があります。現地での学生アカウントの作成、大学提出用の渡航届、簡易なテスト受験、お金の支払いといったところです。これが10日に提示され、22日提出なので、授業などが被ると結構大変です。まあ機械的に処理していけば良いので、時間の割に労力は使わずに済みます。
January
We have to submit a registration for overseas to own faculty in early January. In addition, we should purchase air tickets by 15th January, and we can buy this early.
An orientation by the University of Tokyo was conducted in 12th. This is the first opportunity which members can to meet (online). (Before then, the list of members was shared, so we could get in touch by private.) Then, we introduced ourselves and heard about procedures from then.
We can purchase air ticket in advance, and in this opportunity, we can book the airplane together. I bought after the orientation, but I didn't plan to go with anyone, so I could reserve earlier.
Here, I made a mistake. I couldn't buy ticket because the limit of credit card was not enough to buy. Finally I rent my mother's one and could buy because I couldn't raise the limit. Because of this, I delayed. However, in my first plan, I had to stay one night in Brisbane for transit, so it was lucky that I hadn't needed to book a hotel.
In parallel to this, on 10th, new files were uploaded. Making an account in Adelaide uni, submitting a registration for the university, taking a small exam, paying money, and so on. We have to finish all of these by 22nd, so it is hard if there are a couple of classes. We can do these by process, so it isn't hard to finish.
